Landsec hires retail leasing trio in talent drive

Landsec has recruited Ruth McFetridge, a former LaSalle Investment Management director and real estate manager at Estée Lauder, as its senior retail leasing director.

McFetridge will work with the portfolio team to develop a new leasing strategy for the landlord’s retail properties.

She previously worked at LaSalle IM for more than 12 years until 2018, latterly as asset management director for London retail, before returning in 2019 for a year as maternity cover for the firm’s head of alternatives. In between, she spent a year at Estée Lauder.

The landlord has also hired Oliver Duthie, previously portfolio manager at Appear Here, and Tory Gould, a former JLL retail director, as retail leasing managers.

Mark Allan, chief executive of Landsec, indicated earlier this week that a recruitment drive was under way to help “shift” the landlord’s “mindset” and shed its “oil tanker” image.

Matthew Flood, head of occupier markets at Landsec, said: “Now more than ever it’s essential that Landsec acts and thinks as a customer-centric business; listening and talking to current and future occupiers to ensure we are delivering the very best spaces and experience.”
