Landsec has appointed a data and analytics expert to its board in recognition of the increasing importance of data in the REIT’s strategy.
Manjiry Tamhane, currently global chief executive of marketing effectiveness consultancy Gain Theory, joins the board as an independent non-executive director. She brings with her more than 20 years of experience in using data insights to drive growth.
She was named as one of the 20 Women in Data & Tech initiative in 2018, led by the Female Lead and Women in Data, and was also named as one of the top 100 Women to Watch in the 2020 Cranfield School of Management Female FTSE Board Report.
Landsec chairman Cressida Hogg said her “in-depth knowledge of advanced analytics, data, technology and strategic planning”, combined with experience of the retail sector, would be a “great asset” to the board.
Tamhane added: “Landsec’s focus on using data and insights to inform business decisions and create long-term profitable value for all its stakeholders is an exciting opportunity and one I look forward to supporting.”
Landsec said data-driven decisions were crucial for it to deliver on its new strategy, set out in October last year, to optimise its central London business, reimagine retail, realise capital from subscale sectors and grow through urban opportunities.
