Lambert Smith Hampton names first head of planning

Lambert Smith Hampton has created a new national head of planning role and promoted a 20-year veteran of the business to take the post.

Steve Hemming has advised clients including Barratt, Vistry, Homes England and Historic England. He has worked on schemes such as the redevelopment of Broadcasting House in Llandaff for the BBC, a new headquarters for Severn Trent Water and BTR and commercial developments in Birmingham.

The agency said the role will drive the growth of its planning, regeneration and infrastructure division. Hemming will assume responsibility for co-ordinating activities across the firm’s national planning consultancy team and supporting clients on development.

Hemming said: “I can’t remember a time in which planning has enjoyed such prominence in both the political agenda and wider public consciousness. This is a period of opportunity for all of us at LSH and I am honoured to be tasked with leading such a talented team.”
