Knight Frank wins £500m Aerium portfolio mandate

Knight Frank Asset Management has won a competitive tender to run Aerium’s £500m UK portfolio.

The pan-European investment and asset manager has opted to outsource management of the entirety of its UK portfolio, which includes assets such as the 115,000 sq ft Herbal House in Clerkenwell, EC1, 24 Savile Row, W1 (pictured above), and the 135,000 sq ft One Central Square in Cardiff.

Knight Frank will be tasked with providing strategic advice to Aerium on its portfolio alongside business planning, buying, selling, leasing, development and debt advice.

Adrian Braimer Jones, director of Aerium, said: “Knight Frank was the stand-out option. The firm has an excellent performance track record on a number of high-profile portfolios, and the asset management team’s ability to quickly tap into all the specialists within their business when needed is of great value to us.”

Knight Frank partner Kathryn Cripps said the firm’s focus would be on “driving long-term sustainable income growth while keeping an eye out for new opportunities”.

Knight Frank Asset Management was formed in 2016 when the former Deloitte team led by Julian Stocks joined the business. The team arrived with £1.7bn of assets under management and has now more than doubled the size of the business to some £3.5bn AUM.

The team has more than 300 buildings under management, with clients including the Pollen Estate, the Mercers’ Company, Tabung Haji from Malaysia, Greenwich Hospital and John Lyon’s Charity.
