Kingfisher announces spring demerger

Kingfisher has announced plans to demerge Woolworths and Superdrug from B&Q and Comet next spring into a separately quoted company.

A demerger could make Kingfisher vulnerable to a bid. The move follows a profit warning and poor interim results.
