Joules collapses into administration

Joules has fallen into administration, putting 132 shops at risk of closure.

The retailer has appointed Will Wright, Ryan Grant and Chris Pole of Interpath as administrators to the company as well as Joules Limited, and Will Wright and Ryan Grant to two other vehicles – The Garden Trading Company and Joules Developments.

The troubled brand also operates four concessions, three franchise stores, a distribution centre in Corby and its head office in Market Harborough. Some 1,600 jobs are at risk.

Shares were suspended from trading on the AIM last week. The board said it expects the listing of its ordinary shares to be cancelled, with any residual value distributed among shareholders and the company wound up.
