Joint venture gets approval for Beckenham estate regen

Affordable housing provider Riverside and Countryside have received approval from Bromley Council to redevelop the Calverley Close estate in Beckenham, south east London.

The site, which currently comprises 204 homes across five buildings, will be demolished to make way for 275 homes across nine blocks.

The homes will range from one to three bedrooms. The scheme will also provide 125 car-parking spaces and 508 cycle spaces.

Of the approved homes, 96 will be offered at market rent and 136 will be offered as social rent tenancies for existing residents returning to the estate. The remaining 43 homes will be provided as London Affordable Rent.
