Automotive supplier Johnson Controls is taking a manufacturing and distribution facility at Celexa’s £100m Ravensbank Business Park in Redditch, West Midlands.
Originally, Lear Seating – another supplier of parts to the car industry – had looked to build a similar facility on the 3.71ha (9.16 acre) site but, after securing planning permission for a 13,006 sq m (140,000 sq ft) unit, it failed to complete a deal with the developer.
Now Johnson Controls has submitted a detailed planning application for a 10,850 sq m (116,792 sq ft) B2 unit on the same site – known as Plot 1 – which will feature some 280 car parking spaces. The manufacturer is currently based at Slough Estates’ Kings Norton business park near Birmingham.
