Colliers International has poached its new director and head of out-of-town capital markets from JLL.
Tom Edson had been head of foodstores at JLL.
James Watson, head of UK retail Capital Markets at Colliers International, said: “Tom is a well-known and highly respected member of the retail property community and his experience is second to none.
“Tom’s expertise and retailer focus is first class and having worked together with him on a number of transactions I know he will be a perfect fit for our rapidly expanding team.”
Edson had been an investment consultant to Sainsbury’s on sale and leasebacks and its store freehold acquisition programme, dealing with more than 40 stores valued at around £2bn.
He had also advised UK funds and investors, including British Land, M&G, Land Securities, Aviva Investors, Legal & General, LaSalle Investment Management, CBRE GI and Hermes Investment Management, on retail acquisitions and disposals.
