JLL eyes Landmark for new Manchester offices

JLL is eyeing up Baring’s Landmark as the preferred destination for its new offices in Manchester, EG understands.

The agent is looking to take up between 10,000 and 15,000 sq ft of space for its new home in the city. The 180,000 sq ft Landmark office scheme, located by St Peter’s Square, is currently the agent’s preferred choice.

The company has also shortlisted 1 Spinningfields as a potential option.

JLL was previously eyeing Two St Peter’s Square before Knight’s Solicitors announced in January this year it was taking up space large enough to house 150 colleagues across the first floor.

The agent’s current offices are located at One Piccadilly Gardens, the lease for which is understood to expire later this year.

Besides 125 Deansgate, Landmark is the only new Grade A office building currently under construction and earmarked for a 2019 completion date.

Barings Real Estate bought the Landmark site, next to 1 & 2 St Peter’s Square, from Castlebrooke in 2017.

The scheme includes a double-height reception area at ground level together with 13 further floors of offices.

At 1 Spinningfields, Moneysupermarket.com announced it would take up two floors of space and global bank GCA Altium has signed up for 5,600sq ft of space at the 310,000sq ft office building.
