Jimmy Savile home to be auctioned

Jimmy Savile’s remote Scottish Highland home will go to auction this evening with a guide price of £100,000-plus.

Allt-Na-Reigh, a detached cottage in Glencoe, Argyll, comprises two bedrooms and includes a detached one-bedroom chalet. It is set in grounds that include two waterfalls providing a fresh water supply direct to the property.

Savile, who died in October 2011, was posthumously revealed as one of the UK’s most prolific sex offenders. The property, purchased by Savile in 1998, has previously been the target of vandals who spray painted “Jimmy the Beast” across the walls.

The home will be auctioned at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow at 7.30pm this evening.
