IPUT has been granted full planning permission for 795,000 sq ft of logistics space near Dublin Airport.
The first phase of the Nexus Logistics Park, which will occupy a site at the Cherryhound Interchange of the M2 motorway and the M50, will be delivered in five buildings ranging from 90,000 sq ft to 260,000 sq ft.
The permission is for the 64-acre first phase in a masterplan of more than 180 acres, which has scope to accommodate larger requirements of up to 1.6m sq ft of development.
IPUT said Nexus, which could be constructed using glue-laminated timber frame instead of steel, will be have the highest sustainability standards possible, including BER A3 and LEED.
IPUT Real Estate chief executive Niall Gaffney said: “Our intention is to deliver the next generation of logistics parks in Ireland, to meet both the operational and sustainability requirements of today’s occupiers.
“We have a proven track record of delivering logistics facilities with market-leading sustainability credentials – including Ireland’s first ever net zero logistics building at Quantum Logistics Park.”
The 550,000 sq ft Quantum Logistics Park was prelet to Maersk, DHL and Harvey Norman.
IPUT’s current logistics portfolio comprises 3.2m sq ft across 32 buildings, with a development pipeline of a further 2.4m sq ft.
IPUT has appointed Harvey and CBRE as letting agents for Nexus.
