IPUT gets go-ahead for extra 1.7m sq ft at Dublin logistics park

Irish investor IPUT Real Estate has secured planning permission for an additional 1.7m sq ft at Nexus Logistics Park close to Dublin Airport.

Nexus Logistics Park is located in north Dublin, at the Cherryhound Interchange of the M2 motorway, adjacent to Dublin’s M50. IPUT now has permission to build a total of 2.5m sq ft across 17 buildings, which will be delivered to sustainability standards including BER A2 and LEED Gold. Permission for 800,000 sq ft was granted last year. CBRE and Harvey have been appointed letting agents.

A range of unit sizes can be delivered from 50,000 sq ft to 475,000 sq ft, with the potential for net zero carbon construction partly through using glue-laminated timber frames. Other sustainable design features include roof-mounted solar panels, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting systems and an advanced building envelope to improve thermal performance.

IPUT said the scale of the park meant it would be able to invest in running tracks, cycle paths, outdoor gym facilities and art and cultural installations at the park.

The development of Nexus follows the recent completion of the nearby 550,000 sq ft Quantum Logistics Park, where its four units are let to Maersk, DHL and Harvey Norman. Quantum includes Ireland’s first net zero logistics buildings.

IPUT’s current logistics portfolio comprises 3.2m sq ft across 32 buildings.
