MAPIC 2015: More international retailers will debut in Paris than London this year, according to Savills.
The French capital will have secured 29 international retail entrants this year, compared with 26 in London.
Debuts in the city have come from S.Deer and Nixon.
In 2014, London pipped Paris with 30 new international retailers against 24.
Marie Hickey, retail research director at Savills, said: “The Chinese visitor story is still very persuasive to brands and Paris continues to outpace London in this respect. But with improved visa streamlining we could see London start to consistently outperform Paris over the next three years.”
Hickey added that 27% cheaper rents on Bond Street, compared with the Champs-Élysées would also start to have an impact on retailer decision making.
Luxury retailers make up the bulk of new entrants, reflecting 36%.
