Robin Fell, the founder of Helix Properties, passed away in October aged 65.
Fell started his career at Gooch & Wagstaff in the summer of 1978 rising through the ranks to become the firm’s youngest managing partner.
After 18 years as an investment agent he left to start Cheval Properties, an investment management business, in 1996. Cheval, or Helix as it later became known, enjoyed success raising and deploying the Belfry series of funds throughout the 2000s.
He was known for his intellect and humour, including an array of practical jokes, which would catch many office visitors off-guard.
After the 2008 financial crisis Fell diversified Helix into property management, and also took on the management of the Harmsworth Pension Funds.
Twenty-five years after Fell founded the business, Hines acquired the Helix in 2021.
Fell leaves behind three sons and will be sorely missed.
