Hines boosts leadership in logistics and living

Hines has named two new managing directors as it seeks to grow its logistics and living platforms.

Director of industrial and logistics Greg Cooper (pictured, left) has been promoted to managing director of the logistics business, while Jurrien de Koning (right) has been promoted to managing director of its living business. Cooper has been responsible for leading Hines’s entry to the UK market, growing its portfolio of logistics assets to approximately £500m across the firm’s discretionary funds and within its development joint ventures.

De Koning is focused on driving Hines’s entry into the UK living sector, particularly in student housing, where the firm has a portfolio of around 5,500 beds.

Ross Blair, senior managing director and head of Hines UK, said: “Hines UK has come a long way since its early incarnation as a London office developer. The diversification of the business into a multi-sector investment and asset management firm has accelerated in the last three years, with Greg and Jurrien playing a significant role in establishing Hines in the logistics and living sectors.

“There is certainly more room for growth in both sectors, where the fundamentals remain very strong and we are confident of further rental growth. We look forward to expanding our footprint in the coming year, utilising Hines’s well-capitalised discretionary funds across the risk spectrum.”
