Hermes’ Gavin Murray loses cancer battle

Hermes’ Gavin Murray has passed away after a battle with cancer.

The asset manager, who had been with the company since 2012, died on 7 October.

Despite being diagnosed with cancer, Murray and seven of his friends had rowed 160 miles from Thames Head to Tower Bridge in July, raising more than £75,000 for charity.

In a statement, Hermes said: “It is with great sadness that we announce that Gavin Murray passed away on Saturday 7 October 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

“A beloved husband to Louise, an adoring father to Georgia and Niamh, and a friend to many, Gavin will be missed.”
