Helmsley Group adds to £100m portfolio

Yorkshire-based developer Helmsley Group has bought a £1.5m shopping centre near Gateshead.

The purchase adds to the company’s £100m property portfolio, of which 80% is in Yorkshire.

Current tenants of the Felling Neighbourhood Shopping Centre include Lloyds, Greggs bakery, Ladbrokes and the Co-op

The Helmsley Group specialises in buying or developing commercial properties on behalf of groups of individuals or pension funds who form a syndicate and are entitled to a proportionate share of the rental income and capital growth.

Associate director James Craven said: “Commercial property has always been an attractive investment proposition that can offer high returns over the long term with minimum risk.

“Syndication allows individuals to participate in property deals of a value and scale not possible as a private individual.”
