JIL- the owner of the Treyew Road stadium, Helical Retail and the Southern League Premier Division club, have signed a conditional contract to commit to the £25m redevelopment.

As well as developing a retail scheme, Helical is committed to providing a new stadium prior to Truro City vacating the Treyew Road site.

The scheme will be used to aid a new joint venture which is planning a 10,000-seat stadium to be used by the club.

Peter Masters, chairman of Truro City FC said: “After becoming involved with Truro City some 18 months ago by blindly putting up a £50,000 performance bond to the Conference League based on a club that was only five minutes from certain liquidation, £4.5m in debt, its football ground sold to a third party and a club embroiled in a dispute, we have now managed to turn it into a successful, thriving, promotion-chasing Southern Premier League club.”
