HCA pledges £23m for Kent infrastructure projects

The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has announced its investment of £23m in the Kent Thameside Strategic Transport Programme.

The funding kicks off a £200m programme of transport improvement in northern and eastern Kent over the next 15 years, including upgrades to the A2 as well as improvements along the waterside in Dartford and Gravesham.

The programme hopes to enable 25,000 new homes to be built by 2025.

David Edwards, regional director at the HCA, said: “We have put together an innovative funding programme which will enable high-quality sustainable development in locations such as Ebbsfleet.

“This strategic investment brings together public and private investment to deliver the infrastructure we need to deliver new homes and employment in North Kent.”
