HBG Properties has bought a 9.5-acre site close to Leeds city centre for redevelopment as a 500,000-sq ft mixed-use scheme.
The Dutch-owned developer paid engineers Doncasters £19.25m for the land, which is bounded by Whitehall Road, the Leeds-Liverpool canal and the River Aire.
HBG plans to submit a revised planning application that will include proposals for 300 homes as well as commercial space.
Aedas Architects, Allies & Morrison, Edaw and Make have been asked to put forward proposals for the masterplan, so that HBG can begin on site by mid-2006
HBG Properties director Ian Pennington said: “We are very pleased to have secured this important site in Leeds and are excited by the prospects of developing a strategic modern new environment for the business community here.”
Hill Woolhouse advised HBG while Fowler Sandford and Smylie Norden advised Doncasters.
Letting Agents will be DTZ and Hill Woolhouse.
