Have you got what it takes to join the EG Future Leaders?

EG has begun its annual search for an individual from within the built environment to join our award-winning Future Leaders programme.

We’re on the hunt for at least one person to become a “wildcard” entrant in this year’s new, enhanced programme.

The EG Future Leaders project, now building its seventh cohort, seeks to bring together people from under-represented groups across the real estate sector to showcase the talent, diversity, inclusion and prospects for the industry in an educational, entertaining and emotionally uplifting way.

It is a programme that EG is incredibly proud of and a project, that with the support of our partners – which this year includes Clyde & Co, CBRE, Knight Frank and Nuveen – enables us to offer at least one slot on this intensive public speaking training programme to someone who would never ordinarily be given such an invaluable opportunity.

Could that person be you?

All we ask from a wildcard participant is a desire to showcase the value and importance of the built environment, to utilise their voice to show others – those already in the sector or those wondering if it is a sector for them – a different perspective, and the courage to take the first step of applying.

You may be terrified of getting up on stage and talking for 10 minutes unaided, but you may also have a huge amount to say and the ability to have a huge impact on this sector.

With the help of our training partner Ginger Leadership Communications, this programme has been designed to help people find their voice, unlock their story and produce a talk that captivates a room.

EG is dedicated to helping the real estate sector on its journey of transformation. As the sector moves and shifts with the times, becoming more open, more sustainable and ever more important to people and the planet, we want to showcase the amazing talent that lies within this industry.

The EG Future Leaders programme is aimed at highlighting diversity in all its forms. We support and celebrate individuals from across the built environment who can share and express their ideas with us all, no matter what their background.

This year, EG Future Leaders will form an integral part of our new Real Estate Futures event, a full-day experience designed around showcasing the future of the built environment to help attract the next generation of talent and to continue to educate our existing leaders on the importance of a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Applications for the wildcard position will be reviewed by EG’s inclusive content committee. The chosen candidates will be put on an intensive four-month training programme to learn how to effectively communicate, to present and, most importantly, to become powerful and engaging public speakers.

The course ends with the opportunity to put your new-found skills to the test, with a 10-minute TedX-style talk at EG’s Real Estate Futures event on Tuesday 17 September.

As well as joining this year’s programme, you’ll be inducted into a growing alumni of EG Future Leaders, a group of more than 50 talented individuals who have been able grow their impact and influence on the sector and who have moved into roles formed around the passion they promoted through their EG Future Leaders talk.

There’s nothing to lose.

Click here to apply now. The deadline for entries closes at midnight on Friday 31 May.

Selected candidates will need to commit to the below training dates: 18 June (morning), 24 June (morning), 1 July, 10 July, 16 July, 23 July (afternoon),  29 July, 27 August, 3 September, 10 September, and for the finale on 17 September.
