Developer Harworth has sold the first parcel of engineered land at its 250-acre Hugglescote Grange regeneration in Leicestershire to housebuilder Redrow Homes.
The 16-acre plot will deliver 204 family homes as part of the first phase of the development, located in Coalville.
The developer said it is the largest residential development site brought forward by Harworth’s Midlands team.
The overall 250-acre project has outline consent in place for 2,016 new homes, alongside supporting uses including a primary school, local community centre and new public realm.
Initial infrastructure works at Hugglescote Grange have been completed to facilitate the sale, including a new access roundabout from the existing road network alongside internal roads and utilities.
Works have continued during lockdown. Further residential phase sales are expected in 2021 as Harworth progresses with its on-site infrastructure programme.
Owen Michaelson, chief executive of Harworth, said it was a “landmark deal” for the business that also reaffirmed ongoing demand for housing in the regions.
