The conversion of two office buildings into a 52-storey residential tower at 4 & 5 Harbour Exchange, E14, is being brought back in front of Tower Hamlets’ planning committee, which has failed to decide on the scheme twice this year.
Most recently, developers Gaw Capital and City & Docklands were asked to reconsider the proportion of affordable family-sized homes to be delivered.
The scheme, which has been recommended for approval by the planning officer for the third time, comprises 450 flats, 120 of which would be classified as affordable. The revised plans provide 52 three- and four-bedroom family-sized flats within the affordable housing element, up from 37 family-sized flats in initial plans.
It would also feature 1,335 sq ft of retail, 3,060 sq ft community, 5,770 sq ft creative and 27,860 sq ft amenity space.
The decision was first deferred in July, with the committee requesting a site visit. Four members have toured the site in August.
