Hammerson confirmed today that it is in discussions to sell its 50% stake in shopping centre mall owner VIA Outlets as it gears up to raise cash.
The stake in VIA Outlets, which owns shopping malls across Europe, will be sold to its joint venture partner APG, with whom Hammerson bought the stake in September last year.
The retail landlord also confirmed it is considering a “possible equity raise by way of a rights issue” after the Sunday Times reported the company will seek £500m from investors when it announces its first-half results on Thursday.
Hammerson also said it had recently secured access for up to £300m under the Covid Corporate Finance Facility from the Bank of England, and collection of outstanding Q3 rent collection increased to more than 30%.
