Hammerson’s Mark Bourgeois and cycle partner Doug Hart have successfully broken the London to Edinburgh (either way) tandem record, set in 1988.
The duo, riding for the Ilkley Cycling Club, completed the race (Edinburgh to London) in 17hrs 52 mins, taking 50 mins off the previous record.
The fundraising challenge has raised more than £13,500 for homelessness charities LandAid and Shelter from the Storm.
Bourgeois said: “It was incredibly hard, but nowhere near as hard as enduring days without a home, sleeping on the streets, as a young person. So thank you to all those who have donated to LandAid and Shelter from the Storm so far.”
