Hammerson confirms start date for Gagné

Hammerson’s new chief executive Rita-Rose Gagné is set to take the reins on 2 November, replacing David Atkins in the role.

The news comes as Hammerson revealed it collected 66% of rents owed in the year to date. The landlord has received £162.6m out of a total £268m owed.

As at 14 October, all of the group’s locations are open. In the UK and Ireland, 94% of the flagship tenants that are permitted to trade by the relevant local authorities are open, as well as more than 99% in France.

Hammerson said that despite the extension of the rent moratorium in the UK, its Q3 and Q4 rent collection rates are on track to improve.

It added that it expected occupiers “to pay the agreed rent for these periods, even if discussions regarding Q2 are ongoing”.
