AUDIO: West Ham United today unveiled its vision for a luxury members’ club that it claims will rival London’s leading restaurants.
Karren Brady, vice-chairman of the Premier League club, outlined plans for lounges and 16 executive boxes at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, E20, to where it will relocate in 2016. The commercial space will sit within the 54,000-seat stadium for which the club has signed a long-term lease.
Brady said the Club London facilities would comprise bespoke interiors and are designed to compete with and be compared to leading London restaurants and members’ clubs.
The Hammers have opened a dedicated reservation centre in Westfield, a short walk from the stadium.
Brady added: “This is an incredibly exciting milestone for us as it is the first announcement on the way to revealing all of our world-class plans for the new stadium.”
This summer, Brady told Estates Gazette that she had been impressed with the property industry and the handling of the club’s sale of its Boleyn Ground football stadium to developer Galliard Group, which plans to redevelop it into a 700-home village.
