GVA Grimley has recruited three staff from a leading Belfast firm to help launch its Northern Ireland office in the city.
The members joining from the Belfast office of transport and urban planning specialist Colin Buchanan & Partners are:
- Kevin McGovern, who joins as a partner
- Michelle Henry, who will be an associate
- Tom Stokes, a consultant planner
Director Gerry Hughes, who will continue to work partly at GVA’s Manchester office, will head the Northern Ireland office.
Paul Scott, who currently works at GVA’s Edinburgh office, will also provide support as a partner in Belfast.
Located at Enterprise House, Adelaide Street, in the city centre, the team will build upon the regeneration strategy work undertaken by GVA in Belfast.
GVA has already worked on the Belfast city centre regeneration strategy on behalf of the Department for Social Development.
The team has been retained to advise Northern Irish developer Toland Properties on two public inquiries.
It is also undertaking a feasibility study for a business centre in Ards, Co. Down.
Director Hughes said that the firm would concentrate mainly on consultancy work.
“We believe that our integrated planning, development and regeneration service, which has been so successful in the rest of the UK, is ideally suited to the growing regeneration programme in Belfast and the rest of the Province.”
McGovern added: “The opening of our office in Belfast is an exciting opportunity to build on the work the team has already carried out in the city and elsewhere in the Province.”
The Belfast office will complement the work of GVA Donal O’Buachalla in Dublin assisting in providing a base for further work in the Republic of Ireland.
