Green light for Frogmore’s RAF airbase scheme

Frogmore Real Estate Partners II and The Dorchester Group have won planning consent for the redevelopment of the former RAF airbase Heyford Park, Oxfordshire.

Currently Heyford Park produces more than £4m of income pa, comprising approximately 2m sq ft of commercial space and 395,000 sq ft of residential space, including 315 homes, across the 1,231-acre site.

Paul White, managing director at Frogmore, said: “We are delighted that the secretary of state has granted approval for the appeal at Heyford Park.

“The decision safeguards around 1,000 local jobs and paves the way for around 1,075 homes on the site.

Heyford Park represents an excellent opportunity to create a dynamic new community in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside, as well as restoring buildings of national historic importance for future generations.”

Heyford Park is one of the two investments Frogmore made in 2009 for FREP II.

The fund closed in December 2009 having raised £200m.

Dorchester has committed to three regeneration sites, which have created communities of more than 1,000 homes over the past three years
