Grainger has fully let its new BTR development in Southampton after just three months.
The lease-up for the 132-home Gatehouse Apartments was completed eight months ahead of schedule and is a personal best for the UK’s largest listed residential landlord.
The scheme is the first of five BTR developments, totalling around 1,000 homes, Grainger is delivering this year. Others are in Greater Manchester, North London and Leeds. The Filaments, a 386-home BTR development in Salford, is more than 40% let after launching in April.
Grainger has a further 8,850 homes in its pipeline, which will see it double in size over the next five years.
Chief executive Helen Gordon said: “Our Gatehouse Apartments development in Southampton has performed remarkably well and significantly ahead of schedule and expectations, both in terms of timing and rental performance.
“As we emerge from lockdown we are seeing many positive signs across the board in terms of enquiry levels, reaffirming the strong fundamentals of the sector and an enduring demand for well-managed, high-quality rental homes.”
