GPE’s head of flex customer experience departs

GPE’s head of flex customer experience has left the company to join a tech advisory firm working with landlords and workspace operators.

Jack Kelly has joined Office Ready Tech as director of business development and strategic initiatives. The company’s clients include flex operators such as Work Life, Uncommon and Huckletree

Kelly told EG: “ORT’s mix of real estate and tech experience within the business is what attracted me to making the move. I am a firm believer that technology will play a key role in the property sector’s drive to keep up with rapidly evolving customer demands. However, the solutions need to be pragmatic, customer-focused and output-based, with clear ROI and demonstrable impact on user experience.”

He added: “My experience as an operator trying to integrate various tech solutions often left me frustrated, so I hope to bring my operational and customer experience to ORT and help to deliver tech solutions that truly help operators – and ultimately their end users – enjoy the best experiences possible where their tech is concerned.”

Kelly joined GPE in 2021 from Landsec, where he had helped to launch the Myo flex brand. At GPE he was part of a team mapping out ambitious plans for the company’s flex portfolio, which it wants to span more than 1m sq ft by 2028.

“Property had it too good for too long,” Kelly told EG in an interview last year. “It was a captive audience – if you had a massive trophy asset, you knew you had 2,000 to 3,000 people coming in every day. Now people are choosing where to be and how to be there. That has forced all of us to up our game.

“Members clubs offer offices, hotels offer offices. It’s good for the end user because we are all frantically competing to create the best experiences and match or better what others are doing. If you’re a user you can come to here, to a Storey [from British Land], to a Myo, then go to a TOG and Fora and you would get these different – but all premium – experiences that you wouldn’t have got 10 years ago.”
