GPE has secured World Rugby, the federation behind the Six Nations tournament, as an occupier for its flexible offices in Bermondsey.
The governing body, which also oversees the men’s and women’s Rugby World Cups and the HSBC Sevens series, has agreed to take 3,834 sq ft on the first floor of Building 54 at Woolyard on Bermondsey Street, SE1.
It has taken the space on a three-year lease, according to EG Radius data. The property forms part of GPE’s fully managed offer.
To give an indication of rent, which was undisclosed, life sciences recruitment agency Scienta Search took 1,413 sq ft on the first floor of Building 56 in Woolyard earlier this year at £176.30 per sq ft, according to EG Radius.
It will be World Rugby’s second office. The organisation’s headquarters is at 8-10 Pembroke Street Lower in Dublin, Ireland, and this will remain its primary office space.
World Rugby, which was formerly known as the International Rugby Board, reportedly signed a 20-year lease for its Dublin HQ in 2014, with a break at year 12. At the time it was said to be paying €45 per sq ft for its premises, which measures 15,791 sq ft.
CBRE acted for GPE.
