Govt funding kickstarts work at Quintain science park

Quintain will begin development of the first phase of its speculative £300m SPark science park at Emerson Green near Bristol after receiving government funding.

The South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) has granted the company £5m for the development, as well as £5m to invest in sustainability credentials and securing tenants.

Tonianne Dwyer, head of fund management at Quintain, said: “The funding means that we can finally get on site – and we are thrilled to be getting on with this.

“We have already had an enormous amount of interest from occupiers at the park.

“Corporately, after we carried out our rights issue, our strategy was to increase our funds under management. Going onsite at Bristol is consistent with this strategy.”

The first phase of the SPark scheme includes 70,000 sq ft of office space across two buildings.

Quintain will appoint a construction manager by the end of March and construction is planned to start by Easter.
