Google Maps, EDGE and Real Estate Data Foundation join EG for new data podcast

When the world changed forever earlier this year, it became clear that technology would play a huge role in facilitating a safe return to a semblance of normal life.

The collection and use of building data is just one of the ways that real estate can enable that safe return. It is more than just a short-term measure. Building data use was a growing trend before the pandemic hit and, now it has come into particularly sharp focus, should be employed not just to address the current crisis but to ensure long-term efficiency.

But how much does real estate really understand about the collection and effective usage of building data? What are the pitfalls and how can real estate get the most out of building data collection to respond to the current world we live in and in the future?

EG is bringing you a series of special Tech Talk Radio podcasts where experts including the head of Google Maps, Dutch developer EDGE and the founder of the Real Estate Data Foundation, will address those questions head on.

These sessions will not only address the sudden, urgent necessity for building data off the back of the Covid crisis and government’s call for more to be collected, but will also focus on how these measures can be implemented for the long term.

Join us at https://www.egi.co.uk/halo/ at 10am on Thursday 18 June for our first session, Learning from the Trailblazers. Tech editor Emily Wright will be joined by Sandra Gritti, EDGE’s product excellence director, who will discuss how the Dutch developer has built a reputation as being one of real estate’s most data-led developers. She will reveal how it has trialled and tested the right technology, successfully used data to evolve a portfolio to become one of the greenest and smartest in the world, and how the building data can now be used to help create safer, healthier buildings.
