Glasgow jv unveils plans for £95m Collegelands Park

Initial plans for the final phase of Collegelands in Glasgow have been unveiled.

Glasgow Enlightenment, a joint venture between Dawn Developments and Drum Property Group, has proposed an arts facility with event space, café and courtyard, a 586-bed student accommodation block and a 182-home build-to-rent tower.

The scheme, named Collegelands Park, has a gross development value of £95m. It will sit on a five-acre site bordering Duke Street and High Street, a short walk from the city centre and Strathclyde University.

The development is part of a £200m regeneration project that was launched in 2004, featuring 221 BTR homes, 65,000 sq ft of offices, café, gym, co-working spaces, shared amenities and public realm.

Paul O’Donnell of Glasgow Enlightenment said: “This new development will mark the completion of the 20-year long Collegelands masterplan to regenerate the Calton area of the city.

“It is important that the new development is right for those who live, study and work in the Merchant City and Calton areas of Glasgow.”

A formal planning application will be lodged with Glasgow City Council in the summer, following the consultation period.
