Glasgow approves Lancefield Quay BTR plans

Moda Living has received outline planning permission for a £205m, 730-home build-to-rent scheme at Lancefield Quay in Glasgow.

The four-acre brownfield site has been vacant since 2007 and is Moda’s second BTR scheme in the city. It will be delivered in partnership with GDRI, a joint venture between Osborne+Co and MRP.

In addition to the BTR element, the scheme will include a gym, co-working hubs and commercial units. It will target three-star Fitwel certification and aim to run on 100% renewable electricity.

The waterfront development aligns with Glasgow’s City Centre Living Strategy Vision 2035 and will complement wider regeneration efforts along the Broomielaw. The site is close to Finnieston, the IFSD and transport links to the wider city.

Tony Brooks, managing director at Moda Living, said: “With all the fundamentals we look for in a long-term city partner, Glasgow has immense potential for Moda Living. Lancefield Quay will provide 730 new homes for rent to Glasgow, at a time when supply of good-quality rental accommodation is at an all-time low.”

Stephen Surphlis, managing director at MRP, added: “Complementing the council’s strategy, of a sustainable, inclusive, and diverse society, Lancefield Quay will provide well-designed, modern homes that will add to the vibrancy of the city centre, enhancing community integration and supporting economic regeneration.”
