Get Living has been given the green light for the largest build-to-rent scheme in Scotland, which will see more than 700 homes built in central Glasgow.
Glasgow City Council has approved plans for the £200m redevelopment at the derelict 7.5-acre site at the former College Street Goods Yard, behind High Street rail station.
The residential-led mixed-use scheme will comprise 727 build-to-rent flats, with no specification on the level of affordable flats, and 99 student accommodation flats.
It includes a 36,221 sq ft of commercial space, a new public space and tree-lined access routes to connect Merchant City to the East End.
The scheme has been designed by Glasgow-based architect Stallan-Brand.
It will be owned and managed by Get Living, which is backed by Delancey Oxford Residential, APG and Qatari Diar.
JLL advised Get Living on the planning application, which was submitted in December 2017. Work on the first phase of the development will begin in 2019, subject to a building warrant.

“There is currently a reassuringly positive momentum for new developments springing up around Glasgow, such as Barclays’ Buchanan Wharf announcement and the new headquarters for the Clydesdale Bank. These new homes are likely to prove attractive to many who will be employed in these developments.”
In September, PLATFORM_ submitted plans for a 500-flat PRS scheme, which it hopes will be approved by the end of the year.
