EG’s 2022 Future Leaders programme culminated with our first summit. A full-day experience where our Future Leaders took to the stage to deliver another set of inspirational and thought-provoking talks and where, this time, the audience got to participate in the journey too.
A packed room leant in to powerful, note-free Ted-style talks about the power of social media; how being more hotel-like can bring people back to our offices; why we all need more places of contribution; how we all need to think more carefully about how everybody uses spaces; and why doing “social OK” is not adding social value.
Our Future Leaders asked the crowd to embrace the power of tech more to enable the sector to deliver more, faster and better and they pleaded with us – and bribed us with picture of delicious food – not to be turned off by process and governance, reminding us that guidelines help us do better.
We also learned that while the real estate sector might have a reputation for being bold and sometimes brash, there is power in the quiet and completive too. The small can be fierce, after all. The continuing need for real estate to open its doors and arms to greater diversity and to bang its own drum for showing that it can be a place for you, for me and for everyone also shone through strong.
