Freeport becomes sole owner of Stoke outlet mall

Freeport has paid £7.5m to acquire the 50% that it did not already own of Freeport Stoke, which owns and operates the Talke outlet mall in Stoke-on-Trent.

Freeport’s subsidiary Freeport Leisure paid Norwest Estates – a subsidiary of United Cooperatives – £1m in cash and is to repay £6.5m of shareholders’ loans to Norwest.

The 142,000 sq ft (13,192 sq m) outlet mall, which opened in March 1999, recently received consent for a 23,800 sq ft (2,211 sq m) extension.
