Four take space at PRUPIM’s Wellgate Shopping Centre

Four retailers have taken space at PRUPIM`s 340,000 sq ft  Wellgate Shopping Centre in Dundee.

The 23,000 sq ft former Woolworths store on the first floor mall has been sub-divided and 15,500 sq ft leased to Home Bargains on a new 15 year lease. The store is scheduled to open in October.

The leasing agents for the centre, Cushman & Wakefield, Smith Cole Wright and Shepherd Commercial are marketing the 7,500 sq ft remainder of the space.

In addition, Yeomans Outdoor Leisure has recently opened a new store on the first floor mall. The 1700 sq ft shop was taken on a new 10 year lease.

On the ground floor mall, Poundmart has secured the 9,000 sq ft former Zavvi store at the main entrance to the centre on a new 10 year term. And Dundee independent Lucarno has opened their new shoe shop on the second floor.

C&W’s John Menzies and Ian Wright of Smith Cole Wright said:  “34,000 sq ft of retail space has been leased in the Wellgate Centre already this year. The arrival of these four new retailers provides a major boost to the mall and introduces a number of new brands to Dundee City Centre for the first time.

“In addition to attracting well known multiple retailers, we remain committed to offering flexible leasing packages to local independent retailers looking to establish their retail business in the City. On that front, work is presently underway by the landlord to provide three “white box” retail units in the mall, to create ready to go shop units.”
