Fieldfisher has renewed its lease for its headquarters in the City of London.
The European law firm has extended its lease for three floors at Riverbank House, 2 Swan Lane, London, EC4, until 2035.
The firm, which occupies 81,000 sq ft in the office building, was approaching the end of its existing lease.
In September 2013 it signed a deal to sublease space in the building from head leaseholder Man Group until 2026 for a rent of £50 per sq ft, according to EG radius data.
This follows Winterflood Securities’ deal to sublet 34,521 sq ft from Man Group. It took space on the third floor of the building in April 2023 on a 12 years and four month lease for £56 per sq ft.
Sources familiar with the deal told EG that the firm also looked closely at Sancroft, Paternoster Square, EC4, in St Paul’s, but with recent lettings to Convene, Goodwin Procter, and Intercontinental Exchange, there was not enough space to accommodate the move.
Jack Tomlin, head of City tenant advisory group at CBRE, which advised Fieldfisher, said: “The enhanced amenity offering, river views and fantastic terrace spaces make Riverbank House a hugely attractive proposition.
“Refurbishment and reimagination of existing assets are becoming increasingly prominent themes in an evolving market, which is characterised by high construction costs and sustainability pressures through our planning system.”
Man Group was advised by BNP Paribas Real Estate.
Oxygen Asset Management manages the long leasehold interest of the BREEAM Excellent building.
