Two dairy farmers have been awarded £1.75m in compensation from the Crown Estate following legal action lasting three and a half years.
On taking over the tenancy of Staple Park Farm in Somerset in 2007, Ian and Judith Wakley found problems with equipment, among other issues.
A judge found in favour of the Wakleys last week, saying the Crown Estate had misrepresented the condition of the farm and that it was in breach of tenancy obligations. The Crown Estate is expected to seek leave to appeal.
