Prime minister Rishi Sunak is set to promise farmers that they can open shops, offices and other rural business without full planning permission.
The PM is set to make the promise in a speech to the National Farmers Union today.
Sunak will tell farmers he will “cut bureaucratic red tape” to make it easier for them to set up farm shops, other commercial space and community sports venues.
The reforms are inspired by Jeremy Clarkson’s battles with his local council about a shop and restaurant on his Oxfordshire farm.
