Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct group, footwear specialist Dune and franchisee Rebecca Feng are leading the race for collapsed upmarket fashion and footwear company LK Bennett.
The field for the failed chain, which counts the Duchess of Cambridge and prime minister Theresa May among its most high-profile customers, narrowed after retail entrepreneur Philip Day withdrew his interest, according to people close to the process.
The group, which was hobbled by high rental costs on its UK stores and strong competition from more keenly-priced fashion brands, went into administration in March.
