Everyman signs for IQL Stratford’s Turing Building

Lendlease has signed Everyman as the key leisure tenant at the Turing Building at International Quarter London, Stratford, E15.

The building, where the luxury cinema concept has signed a 25-year lease, is 21 storeys high and is set to offer 350,000 sq ft of grade-A office space and amenities.

A joint venture between Lendlease and Canada Pension Plan Investments, approximately £215m was allocated to developing the Turing Building, which is one of four new office buildings at IQL.

The buildings will provide 1.6m sq ft when fully developed, with an estimated gross development value of approximately £1.5bn.

As part of Lendlease’s wider net zero targets, the Turing Building will see a 48% embodied carbon reduction in construction and operate with a 57% reduction in water demand. It will have an EPC A energy rating and 90 sq m of solar panels that contribute to a 30% reduction in embodied carbon.

The BREEAM Outstanding and certified Well Gold building is targeting WiredScore Platinum for connectivity.

Guy Thomas, head of place assets at Lendlease Europe, said: “As well as responding to corporate and consumer priorities of sustainability, wellbeing and flexibility, having the right amenity mix is critical to ensuring we create places where workers, residents and visitors want to spend time.

“That means we have to get the ground floor right, and when the decision was made to have an integrated cinema to support the cultural boom in Stratford, Everyman was top of the list. We are delighted to have them here, as part of a landmark building that will define IQL for generations to come.”

Designed by architects Arney Fender Katsalidis, the Turing Building is due to be completed in summer 2024.

Shelley Sandzer, Nash Bond, and CF Commercial represented Lendlease at IQL; Everyman dealt direct.
