Events round-up: EG’s biggest summits open up debates

Two of EG’s biggest summits of the year gave delegates plenty to discuss.

U+I’s HQ in Victoria, SW1, played host to the Offices & Workplace and Industrial & Logistics summits last month.

Discussion at the Industrial & Logistics summit ranged from robotics and automation to career opportunities and diversity. Delegates also debated what the sector should be called: sheds, industrial, advanced logistics or something different.

At the Offices & Workplace Summit, debate focused on landlord and tenant relationships and the future of the workplace. Twitter’s VP of EMEA, Bruce Daisley, gave delegates much to think about with his workplace manifesto, while there was an emerging consensus that landlords still need to be more flexible in dealing with tenants.

Offices & Workplace Summit partners included Leo, Savills, Citibase, Kier, Workman, U+I and Aecom. Industrial & Logistics Summit partners included Aecom, Kier, U+I and Verdion.

Charity night passes Go and collects £60,000

Property agents and industry leaders gathered at Mishcon de Reya’s Holborn offices last month for a Monopoly-themed fundraising event in aid of the Langdon charity.

Supported by OakNorth Bank, 14 teams took part in the Monopoly marathon.

Making the most lucrative property decisions on the night was Aston Chase, winners of the gold trophy, while some dubious property investments saw Cheyne Capital take home the wooden spoon.

The evening raised more than £60,000 for the north London charity, which focuses on empowering Jewish people with learning disabilities to live independently.
