Eurostar International has taken new office space in a London block owned by Andrew Barclay.
The high-speed train operator has signed a 10-year lease for almost 3,500 sq ft at Thirty Lighterman at 30 Wharfdale Road, N1. The company is paying £70 per sq ft.
The space will mainly be used for training and has been taken in addition to Eurostar’s existing London office. Last year the company signed a new deal at Hammerson’s former HQ in King’s Cross. The company had been subleasing 14,500 sq ft at Deka’s 90 York Way, N1, but signed a deal directly with the landlord to take 11,700 sq ft of that space.
Barclay bought 30 Lighterman from Zac Goodman’s TSP in 2022 for £17m. In an interview with EG shortly after the deal, Barclay said the building was attracting tenants even during a period of “peak hysteria over macro events and a very negative sentiment in the market”.
Compton was the disposing agent on the 30 Lighterman deal.
