Europa Capital hires Aberdeen’s Chaplin as chief investment officer

Europa Capital has appointed Russell Chaplin to the newly created role of chief investment officer.

Chaplin was previously chief investment officer at Aberdeen Asset Management. He has also held strategic roles at UBS Global Asset Management and Henderson Global Investors and was co-founder and director of Intrinsic Value Real Estate Advisers, a real estate consultancy.

At Europa Capital, Chaplin will work alongside managing partner Rob Sim to oversee the company’s investment performance of all discretionary funds and mandates, and maximise capital raising.

Sim added: “Russell is a hugely experienced property professional, with an incredible depth of knowledge in business strategy, team development and execution.”
