Agents put concerns about inclement weather to one side yesterday to turn out in force for Bidwells’ ninth annual punting competition in Cambridge.
More than 30 agents took part in seven teams. Lambert Smith Hampton sailed to victory with a team comprising Nick Thompson,
Caroline Searle and Leonie Dickman.
The runners up were Bidwells, with a team comprising Harvey Bibby, Michelle Cantwell, Lucy Farrant, Patrick Stanton.
The award for the wettest team went to Cheffins after one member of the team fell into the river.
Barker Storey Matthews took an off-race scenic route to Chesterton, and were awarded with the impromptu prize for travelling the furthest.
